WELCOME TO SERVE FOUNDATION!

Dedicated to serving those who serve....

What is Jatropha?

Jatropha Curcas is a high producing oil seed tree, indigenous to Central America, that is used for producing Biodiesel and Jet Fuel.

Why Jatropha?

Unlike the current leading bio-fuel crops of Soy, Palm and Corn Oil, Jatropha is "Non-Food" Crop, and flourishes in marginal soils, so its propagation does not adversely affect the food industry. Jatropha has been planted and studied in commercial scale in almost all emerging countries but has yet to be proven on a commercial scale in the US. Industry Leaders worldwide claim Jatropha is the premiere crop for the bio-fuels industry.  With one of the highest oil yields of any biofuel crop, Jatropha Curcas is the most viable non-food alternative energy crop currently available.

SERVE & Jatropha:

Serve is partnering with Jatropha experts around the world and will plant, test, and evaluate several different strains of Jatropha to determine which are the best for the United States.  At the same time SERVE is establishing relationships with mechanical harvesting companies.  It is only a matter of time until Jatropha will be commercially viable in the US too.

What is Tilapia?

Tilapia is a hardy, prolific, fast-growing, tropical fish native to Africa, where it has been farmed for over 5,000 years.

Why Tilapia?

Tilapia is one of the easiest fish to farm.  Not only are they one of the fastest growing fish, but they are also highly resistant to diseases and parasites.  World-wide consumption of Tilapia has skyrocketed in the last decade and demand continues to rise in the USA.

SERVE & Tilapia:

SERVE has determined that for some projects, Tilapia waste and byproducts provide excellent fertilizer for bio-fuel crops.  Integrating Tilapia production into another farm saves water as it is used twice.
